AFFIRMATIVE
In affirmative, we have "LOTS OF - SOME - A LITTLE- A FEW"
LOTS OF: Mucho
SOME: Algunos/ Algo de
A LITTLE: Unos pocos
A FEW: Unos pocos
How can we distinguish them?
Think of ingredients. Some of them are CONTABLE (se pueden contar). Others are UNCONTABLE (no se pueden contar). For example:
EGGS. Can you count the eggs? YES! It is CONTABLE
Hay muchos huevos: There are lots of eggs
Hay algunos huevos: There are some eggs
Hay pocos huevos: There are a few eggs
FLOUR. Can you count the flour? NO! It is UNCONTABLE No podemos decir tengo dos harinas. Podríamos decir tengo 25gr de Harina. La harina no se puede contar, pero los gramos sí.
Hay mucha harina: There is lots of flour
Hay algo de harina: There are some flour
Hay poca harina: There are a little flour
En afirmativo, como vemos, primero tenemos que pensar si ese ingrediente o comida se puede contar. En el caso del azúcar, seria INCONTABLE. ¿Por qué? Porque no podemos decir tengo 10 azúcar. Podríamos decir tengo 10gr de azúcar. ¿Lo entendéis?
Pensad ahora en BISCUITS. ¿Podemos contarlas? Sí. Las BISCUITS serían contables.
Todo es igual (lots of, some...) Sin embargo, hay dos cosas que cambian para decir que hay un poco de...
INCONTABLES: A LITTLE
CONTABLES: A FEW
¡Lo demás es todo igual!
NEGATIVE
In negative, it is super easy. wehave to ADD "ANY". For example:
THERE AREN'T ANY eggs
En negativo, tenemos que añadir "ANY". Daría igual si es CONTABLE o INCONTABLE. Se escribe igual.
INTERROGATIVE
In interrogative, it is super easy. First of all, we have to think if the food is UNCONTABLE (THERE IS) or CONTABLE (THERE ARE). Secondly, we have to add ANY. For example:
Yes, there is
No, there isn't
are there ANY eggs?
Yes, there are
No, there aren't
Después tenemos que añadir ANY, como en negativo. Por ejemplo:
is there ANY sugar?
Yes, there is
No, there isn't
are there ANY eggs?
Yes, there are
No, there aren't

En la segunda actividad, tenéis que hacer las preguntas pensando si los ingredientes son contables (are there any...?) o incontables (is there any...?)
